Private acquisitions and project enquiries are handled personally by the artist, with individual consideration given to scale, placement, palette and the character of the interior.

PROJECT COMMISSION TERMS
Safiyyah Choycha | 2026
These terms apply to original artwork commissioned from Safiyyah Choycha (“The Artist”) for interior design, hospitality, private residential and other interior projects.
1. Project Enquiry & Consultation
Enquiry
The client (“The Client”) may contact The Artist through the Interiors project enquiry form or by email to discuss a potential project.
The Client may provide photographs, plans, measurements, reference material and other relevant information about the property or interior.
Consultation
Following the enquiry, The Artist will discuss the proposed project with The Client. This may include:
the number of artworks required;
approximate dimensions;
medium;
framing, where applicable;
intended location or setting;
desired project timeframe; and
any relevant information about the atmosphere, palette or character of the interior.
The Artist may create work in response to the scale, atmosphere and palette of a space, but all commissioned artwork will remain rooted in The Artist's established artistic practice and distinctive style.
Photographs, plans, colour references and other materials supplied by The Client are used as references rather than specifications for exact reproduction.
2. Project Confirmation
Before the project commission begins, The Artist will confirm in writing the agreed scope of the project.
This may include:
number of artworks;
dimensions;
medium;
framing;
total project price;
estimated completion timeframe; and
any other specifically agreed requirements.
The commission will not be considered secured until the required payment has been received.
Any substantial changes requested after the project has been confirmed may require a revised quotation and completion timeframe.
3. Pricing & Payment
Pricing
Project commissions are quoted individually according to the number, size, medium, framing and requirements of the artwork.
A quotation will be provided following consultation.
Unless specifically included in the quotation, delivery, specialist installation and other third-party services are charged separately.

4. Project Timeline
The anticipated completion timeframe will be discussed and confirmed before the commission begins.
There is normally a minimum six-week lead time for project commissions. Larger paintings and projects involving several works may require considerably longer.
Unless a particular completion date has expressly been agreed in writing, completion dates are estimates.
Oil paintings require sufficient drying time before they can safely be framed, packaged, transported or installed. The Artist will take this into account when estimating the project schedule.
The Artist will notify The Client as soon as reasonably possible if unforeseen circumstances materially affect the anticipated completion timeframe.
Full payment is required upfront to secure the project commission and reserve the required time within The Artist's schedule.
If the project is cancelled before The Artist has begun creating the commissioned artwork, the commission payment will be refunded, subject to any applicable statutory rights and any costs expressly agreed with The Client in advance.
Once The Artist begins creating the commissioned artwork, 50% of the total commission price becomes non-refundable. This reflects the time reserved within The Artist's schedule, creative work undertaken and materials committed to the project.
If The Client chooses to cancel after work has begun, The Client will receive a refund of the remaining 50% of the commission price.
In the rare event that The Artist is unable to complete the commissioned artwork after work has begun, The Client will receive a refund of the remaining 50% of the commission price.
If The Artist is unable to proceed before work has begun, the commission payment will be refunded in full.
5. Changes to the Wider Project
The Client should notify The Artist as soon as reasonably possible if the interior project, installation date or other circumstances relevant to the commission materially change.
The Artist cannot guarantee immediate accommodation of significant changes to an agreed project schedule.
If The Client requests changes to the number of artworks, dimensions, framing, specification or other substantial elements after the commission has been confirmed, The Artist may issue a revised quotation and completion timeframe.
The Artist is not obliged to accept changes that would materially alter the agreed artistic direction of the commission.
6. Artistic Interpretation
The Client commissions The Artist because of The Artist's existing body of work and established artistic style.
The Artist retains artistic discretion over the interpretation and execution of the commissioned work.
While consideration may be given to the scale, atmosphere, setting and palette of the interior, the commission is not an exact colour-matching or reproduction service.
Variations are inherent in original, handmade artwork and form part of the character of the finished painting.
7. Approval & Adjustments
Once the commissioned artwork is complete, The Artist will provide photographs to The Client before delivery.
Reasonable minor adjustments may be discussed at this stage where The Artist considers them appropriate and technically possible.
Requests that substantially alter the agreed composition, subject or artistic direction may incur additional fees and may not be possible once the artwork has been completed.
Where several works have been commissioned as a collection, the works should be considered as an original group rather than identical or mechanically matched pieces.
The appearance of colours and tonal values may vary between screens, photographs, lighting conditions and the physical artwork.
7. Approval & Adjustments
Once the commissioned artwork is complete, The Artist will provide photographs to The Client before delivery.

8. Interior Designers & Clients Acting for Others
Where an interior designer, design studio, purchasing agent or other professional commissions artwork on behalf of another person, company or property, the party entering into the agreement with The Artist will be treated as The Client unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that they have authority to commission the artwork and provide approvals where they are acting on behalf of another party.
Unless otherwise agreed, The Artist will take instructions and approval from the named Client rather than separately seeking approval from The Client's own customer.
The Client remains responsible for payment in accordance with the agreed terms regardless of their own payment arrangements with a third party, unless The Artist has expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
9. Shipping, Delivery & Installation
Delivery arrangements will be agreed before dispatch.
Unless expressly included within the quotation, shipping, specialist art transport, delivery and installation costs are the responsibility of The Client.
The Artist will take reasonable care to package artwork appropriately for the agreed method of transport.
Where specialist installation is required, this should be carried out by an appropriately competent professional.
Unless specifically contracted to provide installation services, The Artist is not responsible for assessing the suitability of walls, fixings, building materials or installation locations.
Where The Client appoints its own courier, installer or other third party, the arrangements concerning collection, delivery and responsibility for the artwork should be agreed before the artwork leaves The Artist.
10. Cancellation
If The Client cancels before The Artist has begun creating the commissioned artwork, the payment will be refunded subject to the provisions above and any applicable legal rights.
Once work has begun, 50% of the total commission price is non-refundable.
If The Client cancels after this point, the remaining 50% will be refunded.
Due to the bespoke nature of commissioned artwork, refunds will not ordinarily be available simply because The Client changes their mind after the completed work has been approved, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Ownership & Copyright
Physical Artwork
Once the agreed purchase price and any other sums due have been paid and the sale completed, The Client will own the physical original artwork.
Copyright
Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the artwork remain with The Artist unless expressly transferred under a separate written agreement.
Purchase of the physical artwork does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.
The Client may display the physical original artwork within the intended residential, commercial or hospitality interior.
The artwork may not be reproduced on products, merchandise, printed materials, branding or other commercial materials, licensed to third parties, or otherwise commercially reproduced without prior written permission from The Artist.
Any commercial reproduction or licensing arrangement can be discussed separately.
12. Interior Photography & Project Publicity
The presence of the physical artwork within photographs or video of the completed interior may be permitted where the artwork appears naturally as part of the wider space.
Where reasonably practicable, The Artist welcomes attribution as:

The Artist may provide complimentary digital artist information, artwork details and approved materials to make attribution straightforward.
Any use in which the artwork itself is the principal commercial image, or is reproduced independently from the wider interior, should be discussed with The Artist in advance.
13. Artist Portfolio
The Artist retains the right to photograph and display commissioned artwork in The Artist's portfolio, website, social media, exhibitions, publications and other promotional materials unless otherwise agreed in writing before the commission begins.
Where a project is confidential, unpublished or subject to an embargo, The Artist will respect confidentiality arrangements that have been agreed in writing in advance.
The Artist will not represent herself as having designed an interior or project merely because her artwork appears within it.
14. Privacy & Project Information
Personal and project information provided by The Client will be used as reasonably necessary to communicate about, administer and fulfil the commission.
Information may be shared with relevant third-party service providers where reasonably necessary to complete the project, including framers, couriers and other businesses involved in preparing or delivering the artwork.
Confidential project information will not knowingly be publicly disclosed by The Artist where confidentiality has been agreed in writing.
15. Agreement
Submitting a project enquiry does not commit The Client to commissioning artwork.
A project commission will proceed only once the scope, quotation and relevant details have been agreed, these Terms & Conditions have been provided to The Client, and the required payment has been received.
By confirming the project commission and making the required payment, The Client agrees to the Terms & Conditions applicable to that commission.
The terms applicable to a project are those agreed when the commission is confirmed. Any later changes to The Artist's standard Terms & Conditions will not retrospectively alter an existing agreement unless both parties agree to the change in writing.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any legal rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
